Railways planning to stop running Ranchi-Dhanbad & Ranchi-Deoghar intercity trains

Ranchi: Due to the ongoing second wave of Coronavirus once again is hampering the train operations in the state as the railways was planning to stop operating two intercity trains over lack of passengers.

Ranchi-Dhanbad and Ranchi-Deoghar Intercity trains are under Eastern Railways therefore the Ranchi rail division can not take a final decision to close them therefore it has sent a proposal to the railway board. Once the railway board gives its consent the operation of the trains will be stopped.

From May 7 operation of Ranchi-Howrah Shatabadi Express has been stopped. The Ranchi rail division in its proposal has said that in these trains very less people are travelling and more than 50 percent seats are vacant. Further, there is also a shortage of manpower in the Ranchi division as nearly 450 people are infected with Coronavirus.

Earlier the railway board had written a letter to the Ranchi division seeking feedback over closing of trains in which very less passengers were travelling.
