Providing better healthcare facilities to people is top priority for government: Chief Minister

Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday said that providing the best healthcare facilities to the people during the pandemic and ensuring no one dies due to lack of treatment is a top priority for the state government.

Speaking after via virtual mode inaugurating the newly constructed ICU ward and pipeline oxygen supported beds he said that the state government is moving towards strengthening and bettering the healthcare infrastructure in the state. He said that with the cooperation of all and better management the government has managed to control the second wave of Coronavirus and now steps are being taken to normalise life. He said that the government has also commenced preparations for tackling the third wave.

The Chief Minister said that Latehar district is full of difficult terrains and 80 percent of the population lives in villages and in such a situation providing better healthcare facilities that too in a record time in the area was not an easy task but was achieved due to the hard work of the health department and district administration.

The Chief Minister asked the Latehar DC to take the help of companies involved in mining activities in the district in the battle against Coronavirus and their funds from CSR should be used for improving the healthcare services.

Hemant Soren said that the steps taken to tackle the second wave of Coronavirus are bringing success to the state as the infection rate has declined and recovery rate has improved however the danger is still there as it is difficult to predict as to how many waves will more come. He said that to make sure that the third wave does not make the situation worse there was a need to remain alert and aware.

Speaking on the occasion Health Minister Banna Gupta said that under the leadership of the Chief Minister the healthcare system is being improved and better facilities are being provided to the people. He said that the manner in which facilities are being expanded in the hospitals their proper utilisation has to be ensured.

Additional Chief Secretary Health Arun Kumar Singh, Secretary to Chief Minister Vinay Choubey and other officials were present on the occasion.
