Ranchi: Under the banner of the Jharkhand Power Engineers Service Association and Electrical Diploma Engineers Association Coordination Committee a protest was organised in the capital outside the headquarters of Urja Vikas Nigam against Electrical Amendment Bill 2020.
General Secretary of the organisation Pritam Nath Kido said that there was a different situation in Jharkhand as far as distribution of power was concerned whereas it was very easy for the metro cities.
He said that in Jharkhand poverty was at large scale and the government was providing subsidy over power tariff but when the rights would be given to the Centre than people would be denied the subsidy.
He said that when subsidy would be denied than power tariffs would become costly in the state and the power companies will also face problems getting in touch with the central franchise as its area of operation would be large. Kido said that the overall Centre would have complete rights over power.
