Probe ordered in stripping of girl and making the videos viral in Jharkhand

Ranchi, Aug 08: Jharkhand govt on Tuesday instituted three member team to probe an incident in which a college girl was stripped on charges on stealing mobile and the videos of stripping  was made viral on social media.

 

According to the state govt press release Chief Minister Raghubar Das has asked official to probe the incident and take stern action against the culprits. FIR has also been lodged and the college girls are being interrogated.

 

According to Police, a girl studying in SP Women’s college in first year of Bachelor of Arts of Dumka district  was caught by some girl as she was carrying a mobile. The girls suspected that it was the same mobile which went missing few days ago. A Mahapanchayat was called in the college on August 4 and the girl accused of stealing mobile was beaten and stripped.  Some girls made videos and took photographs.

 

In the Manhapanchayat, girls threatened to make the videos clips viral if Rs 18600 was not paid. The father of girl got information and reached the college. Father tried to pacify the girls and promised to pay back the money by selling his ox. Girl’s father took time till August 25, but the videos clips was made viral. The girl belongs to poor  family.

 

When video clip got viral, the victim approached college administration, local police and other people for justice but nothing happened. When the issued appeared in local media on Tuesday, the state govt came into action. No arresting has been done so far.
