Prime Minister honours Gumla DC Sushant Gaurav for exemplary work on National Civil Services Day

Ranchi: Gumla Deputy Commissioner Sushant Gaurav received the Prime Minister Award for Excellence in Public Administration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. This is for the first time any district of Jharkhand has received the award.

This prestigious award is given for excellence in public administration. On the occasion, a documentary film was also shown in the programme about the excellent work of the Gumla district. The document explained how under the leadership of Gaurav many excellent works were done in the district.

The documentary explained how the Ragi mission was raised to a new height, eradication of the anemia eradication programme was organized properly and efforts were made towards a TB-free district. The works done in the district included disability identification and disabled welfare, library revolution, sports bank creation besides development in the education sector, and training and promotion of bamboo craftsmen. 

The district also launched several schemes for a real follower of Mahatma Gandhi, Tana Bhagat, and worked for the development of primitive tribes with attention on the promotion of sports from district to panchayats, digitization of panchayats, engagement of women self-help groups in multipurpose works, fisheries, adoption of innovative measures in the agriculture sector and others.
