J’khand Guv lays foundation stone of excellence centre in Gumla

Ranchi: Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan on Friday laid the foundation stone of an excellence centre as ‘Singi Dai Van Vigyan Kendra’ at Balatu village in the state’s Gumla district. The centre, which will be working in the field of medicinal and aromatic plants, is being set up by Vikas Bharti Bishunpur, a non-profit body, with help of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).

The Governor said that Vikas Bharti has tirelessly been doing the work of planting, processing and providing related training over the medicinal and aromatic plants in Balatu for many years. I, not only hope, but have full faith that this centre, being developed with the help of NSDC, will definitely prove to be a milestone in the state of Jharkhand, he said.

He said that credible institutions like IIM and Ranchi University will also be cooperating technically in its development. In future, I am sure that the researchers, medicinal plant experts, institutes like IIM, young entrepreneurs not only from Jharkhand but also from the other part of the country will come here to work over its’ best genome and contribute significantly to the economic development of our state and the country, he said.
