Pre Monsoon Rainfall commences in state

Ranchi: The pre-monsoon rainfall which has started in the state has brought much-needed relief to the people battling hot and humid conditions. The weather station has said that over the course of the next three days due to local factors in many districts of the state rainfall will take place. The Monsoon too is expected to make an official entry this week itself in Jharkhand.

On Wednesday many areas of the capital including the main road, line tank road, Upper Bazaar, Kutchury, Morhabadi received rainfall while in many low-lying areas including Vidyanagar, Laxmi Nagar and Lohrakocha water logging was reported for some time. Though life was impacted due to the rains the people remained on the roads.

The weather station has predicted that Monsoon will enter in the state via Sahibganj and on June 16 and 17 in many districts heavy rainfall has been predicted. In some of the areas thunderstorms and lighting has been predicted with wind speed blowing around 30-40 kilometres per hour.

On June 16 in some parts of the southern and central region, heavy rainfall has been predicted. The Ranchi MET Centre has predicted heavy rainfall in some places across Ranchi, Gumla, Bokaro, Hazaribagh, Khunti, Ramgarh, East and West Singhbhum, Saraikela and Simdega districts. While till June 20 in many places light to medium range of rainfall has been predicted.

The Weather Station has also sounded a yellow alert for many districts of the state and in some areas wind speed is expected to remain around 30-40 kilometres per hour.
