Ranchi: Jharkhand IAS Officer Pooja Singhal, accused in the money laundering case, will spend her days in jail. He will not get bail. He had requested the Supreme Court to grant him bail on health grounds. Which was heard on Monday.

After the hearing, the court of Justices Sanjeev Khanna and Dipankar Dutta refused to intervene on the order of Jharkhand High Court, refusing to grant bail, terming the case as extraordinary. During the hearing, the apex court noted that ED has examined 12 out of 17 prosecution witnesses. At the same time, the court has hoped that the investigating agency will soon end this entire action.

During the hearing, the bench said to wait for bail now. This is not a simple matter. There are many serious things in this. We cannot hear this petition immediately. It is hoped that the investigation process of this case will be completed soon. However, the court has said that if the case continues for a long time or there is any change in the circumstances, then IAS Pooja Singhal can file her petition again.

During the hearing held on Monday, Additional Solicitor General SV Raju, appearing for the ED, opposed the bail plea. He said that out of the total custody period, he has spent most of the time in RIMS, a hospital in Ranchi. On February 10, 2023, the top court had granted interim bail to Singhal for two months so that he could take care of his ailing daughter.

Pooja Singhal is in jail since May 11, 2022 in the money laundering and property acquired from it case. ED had raided more than 20 locations of Pooja Singhal in Jharkhand on May 6 in the MNREGA scam and money laundering case. In which Rs 19.31 crore was recovered. In this case, CA Suman Kumar of Pooja Singhal’s husband Abhishek Jha was taken on remand. After this, Pooja Singhal was arrested on May 11, 2022.
