Ranchi: The ongoing agitation by the Jharkhand Police Men’s Association has been called off till further orders following an assurance by Chief Minister Hemant Soren. The Chief Minister has assured the members of the police men’s association that all their legitimate demands will be met.
He said that jawans are part of the government and assured that all their problems will be solved. During the ongoing Budget Session, the members of the association had met the Chief Minister in the Vidhansabha. After receiving adequate assurances the constables and havildars decided to call off their agitation.
From Wednesday nearly 70,000 constables and havildars of the state police had started an agitation in support of their demands. They were working with wearing black badges while on March 21 they had planned to undertake a community fast. Further from April 14 it was decided that they would go on mass leave for five days if their demands are not met.
