Ranchi: Railway Police Force (RPF) on Monday freed a mentally challenged girl from the clutches of a young man who had seduced her.
The police arrested youth Upendra Kumar from platform number one of Ranchi station.
The arrested accused is a resident of Rampur in Namkum.
Regarding the incident, RPF said that on May 29, a young man from Gaya district of Bihar had come to Kanke CIP to get his mentally challenged sister treated.
After treatment, he came to Ranchi station to return to Gaya and took the ticket from the ticket booking counter.
The young man went to bring food to his sister sitting in the hall of the ticket counter.
When he returned with food, his sister was not there.
He searched hard for his sister at the station, but could not find her.
After which he complained to GRP Ranchi.
After the complaint was registered in GRP Ranchi, RPF in-charge Diganjay Sharma and GRP in-charge Pradeep Minj took the matter seriously and investigated the CCTV installed in the RPF post.
During this, it was found that a person lured a mentally challenged girl with wrong intentions and took her out of the station.
After identifying the accused with the help of CCTV footage, RPF and GRP Ranchi took joint action and arrested Upendra Kumar.
