West Singhbhum: Police have arrested two naxalites including the area commander of PLFI. The police team took action on the basis of secret information received by SP Ashutosh Shekhar. During this, area commander Soma Hembram and Birsa Khandait were arrested. Both were arrested near Chitir hill of Goilkera police station area.
Police have recovered two AK 47, nine magazines, 188 rounds of live bullets, 50 thousand rupees and mobile phone from them. There are 11 cases registered against Sona Hembram in different police stations of Chaibasa and Khunti district, while three cases are registered against Birsa Khandaite.
SP had received information that Area Commander Soma Hembram alias Najom was roaming in the forested and hilly areas of Goilkera police station area along with some members of his squad. He is demanding levy from the sensors while threatening to stop the ongoing development works in Goilkera and Anandpur police station areas.
A police team was formed on the instructions of the SP. The police team took action and arrested both the Naxalites. SP Ashutosh Shekhar gave this information while addressing the press conference in his office on Saturday.
