Ranchi: In connection with the arson and firing incident involving two Hiyawa trucks, Latehar police have arrested six criminals. Firearms and ammunition were seized from their possession. Acting on a tip-off received by SP Kumar Gaurav, a police team conducted the operation and arrested six members of the Pradeep Ganjhu gang. Based on the criminals’ confessions, the police recovered two firearms, three cartridges, two motorcycles, and six mobile phones.
Addressing a press conference on Saturday, SP Kumar Gaurav identified the arrested individuals as Sunil Ganjhu, Sanjay Bhagat, Kailash Ganjhu, Manoj Thakur, Baban Singh Bhokta, and Dilip Oraon, who hail from Ranchi, Chatra, and Latehar districts. Notably, the majority of the criminal activities in Latehar district have been linked to these suspects, and the police have successfully arrested and sent them to jail.
SP Kumar Gaurav shared that on the night of December 2, arson and firing occurred in Balumath involving two coal-laden Hiyawa trucks. In response, an SIT was formed under the leadership of SDPO Vinod Ravani to apprehend the criminals. During the investigation, it was discovered that the Pradeep Ganjhu gang was involved. Following this, the SIT carried out raids at various locations, leading to the arrest of six gang members.
