PM Modi showered gifts worth Rs 7200 crore in Khunti

Ranchi: On the occasion of Tribal Pride Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi showered gifts on the country including Jharkhand from Khunti, the birthplace of Lord Birsa Munda. During the program organized at Birsa College football ground in Khunti, the Prime Minister launched the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra and the Prime Minister’s Specially Vulnerable Tribal Group Mission worth Rs. 24 thousand crores.

He also released the 15th installment of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Yojana worth Rs 18 thousand crore. The Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of projects worth about Rs 7200 crore here and dedicated them to the nation.

The PM also inspected the stall set up at the meeting venue. In these stalls, he took stock of the stalls related to the public welfare schemes run by the Central Government. A total of 45 stalls have been set up here, mainly three stalls related to JSLPS, TRIFED, Van Dhan Vikas Kendra, processing unit, and demo stall. People from 200 places of the country are connected online in this program. Programs are being organized on Tribal Pride Day at those places also. Union Ministers, Governors, Chief Ministers, State Ministers, MPs, MLAs are included in this program. 

Addressing the program in Khunti, Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that Jharkhand is a tribal dominated state. I am proud to be a tribal. Jharkhand has been the land of heroes. It is unfortunate that historians have not given proper place to the martyrs here.

CM said that today preparations are being made to move towards the moon, but even today the gap between rich and poor has not been bridged within the society. The CM demanded the Prime Minister to prepare an action plan for the people displaced for mineral mining. During the CM’s speech, people raised slogans of Modi-Modi at the meeting venue.

The Prime Minister flagged off the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra. This journey will start from districts with significant tribal populations and will cover all the districts of the country by 25 January 2024. This yatra has been undertaken to spread information about the major welfare schemes of the government to the needy.

This year will focus on providing people the benefits of welfare schemes like sanitation facilities, essential financial services, electricity connections, and access to LPG cylinders, housing for the poor, food security, proper nutrition, reliable healthcare, clean drinking water.

PM Modi also launched the ‘Prime Minister Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (Prime Minister PVTG) Mission’. There are 75 PVTGs in 18 states and union territories covering 22,544 villages (220 districts) with a population of approximately 28 lakh. These tribes live in scattered, remote, inaccessible settlements and often in forest areas.

Therefore, in this mission with a budget of about Rs 24,000 crore, PVTG families and their homes will be connected with schemes like road and telecom connectivity, electricity, safe housing, clean drinking water, sanitation, education, health. PM Modi also released the fifteenth installment of Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi. The 15th installment amount of Rs 18,000 crore will be released to more than 8 crore beneficiaries through DBT.

Under this scheme, till now Rs 2.62 lakh crore has been transferred to the accounts of farmers in 14 installments. Plan to four-lane the 52 km long stretch of Mahagama-Hansdiha section of NH 133. Plan to four-lane the 45 km long stretch of Basukinath-Deoghar section of NH 114A. Foundation stone of KDH-Purnadih Coal Handling Plant laid. Laid the foundation stone of the new academic and administrative building of IIIT Ranchi.
