Ranchi, Apr 23: Heaping praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi
Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that he had given a new
meaning to the word cooperative federalism along with ensuring the
development of the country and the state.
Addressing the meeting of the Niti Aayog in New Delhi Mr Das said that
various developmental projects are being executed in the state with
the help of the funds of the center. He said that the state has
prepared a vision document and forwarded the same to the Niti Aayog as
part of which measure to be adopted during the course of next 15 years
for tackling poverty, illiteracy, creating employment, increasing the
income of farmers and other activates have been mentioned. He said
that the state government tabled the budget for the year 2017-18 on
January 23 and in the starting of the fiscal year gave approval to
projects worth Rs 40,000 and pointed them one among the schemes which
included distribution of smart phones among the women of Sakhi Mandals
was launched by the Prime Minister himself in Sahibganj.
The Chief Minister pointed out that during the year 2015-16 increase
in GSDP stood at 12.1 per cent which was more than the national
average however the per capita income at Rs 62,816 was well below the
national average for which the state has announced the year as Garib
Kalyan Varsh. The state government was focusing on silk, tussar, lac
industries and 1.30 lakh sakhi mandals have also been created. He said
that to double the growth rate of the agriculture sector small and
cottage industries along with women groups have been activated. He said
that the state government would be setting three milk chilling plants
in the state this year having a capacity of 5,000 litres.
