Ranchi: The new-look given to tourist places like Kellaghagh, Dangaddi, Ketungadham located in Simdega district is not only attracting tourists towards itself but the livelihood of the local people is also getting empowered.
The captivating nature here is fascinated by the tourists. Not only this these tourist places have been covered with basic facilities for tourists due to which an unprecedented increase in the number of tourists has been registered.
The work of beautifying the tourist places of Simdega neglected for years, is being done for the last one year. Through the District Tourism Promotion Committee, development works are being done by marking the tourist places in the district where tourists keep coming. The role of the local people was decided in this work which the people here have happily accepted. This facilitated the district administration and ensured beautification of tourist places and indirect employment to the people.
There are many such tourist places in Simdega that cannot be ignored one of them is Bhanwar Pahar, which is a symbol of mythological heritage. It is said that Bhanwar Pahar has been instrumental in killing the enemies during the war. The district administration has marked the heritage of Bhanwar hill to be recognized as a tourist spot. In order to see the panoramic view of the Bhanwar mountain and to take the people aware of the specialty of the mountain, the work of beautifying it has been launched on the ground. Soon the work of beautification of Bhanwar mountain will be completed and handed over to the tourists.
Facilities like solar high mast light, police OP, lattice fence along the railing, canteen have been restored at Kellaghagh tourist site adjacent to the district headquarters. Other tourist places like Kellaghagh, Dangaddi, Ketungadham are being developed on a large scale. The facilities which were being missed by the tourists are being restored.
Installation of watchtower, high mask light, construction of community toilet in Dangdi and due to the development work being done in Dangdi according to the convenience of the tourists, now every day local villagers are setting up food shops there, from which they are also earning. In Vanadurga, installation of high mask lights and street lights, strengthening of community toilets, facilities like accessible transportation have been developed. Now marriages and other programmes are also taking place here. Ketunga Dham, where the temple of Baba Bholenath is located, reflects the mythological heritage. The shed is being constructed by the district administration from the temple to the canal, which will provide a lot of convenience to the devotees. Action is being
taken to restore the facilities accessible to tourists while strengthening the old building.
Simdega DC Sushant Gourav said that it is the effort of the district administration to develop the facilities that the tourists and devotees should get at the identified tourist places. He said that work is going on continuously and any tourist sites have been developed while the development work of other sites is in the final stage. He said that efforts are also being made to connect people with direct and indirect employment by developing tourist places.
