Ranchi: The High Court has rejected the PIL demanding a CBI inquiry against former Chief Minister Raghuvar Das’s OSD (Officer on Special Duty) Rakesh Chaudhary, suspended Chief Engineer of Rural Development Department Virendra Ram and suspended Engineer Chief of Road Construction Department Ras Bihari Singh.
Satisfied with the reply given by ED, CBI, Income Tax Department and ACB in this case, the court rejected this PIL.
Additional Advocate General 1 Darshana Poddar Mishra argued on behalf of the state government.
In this regard, RTI activist Pankaj Yadav had filed a public interest litigation in the High Court.
In the year 2019, the Income Tax Department had raided six places including Dorabji Auto Private, Parsudih located in Adityapur Industrial Area of Jamshedpur and the residence of Pahari Engineering Munshi Mohalla located in Sunder Nagar.
The Income Tax Department had found Rs 2.5 crore cash, huge amounts of benami property papers, gold jewelery investment papers and documents related to tax evasion from the residence of Suresh Prasad Verma, close to suspended Chief Engineer Virendra Ram.
