PDS shops to be developed as Common Service Centres

Ranchi: The Public Distribution shops in the state are being developed as common service centres for which an agreement has been in between the Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department of Government of Jharkhand and CSC-SPV.

The purpose behind the memorandum is to provide services of CSC through the Public Distribution shops and also in return create new business opportunities and increase the income of these ration shops. Going forward the Public Distribution shops will now be able to provide services of CSC.

Apart from food grains distribution under this all kinds of bill payment PAN card applications, applications for applying for a passport, services related to voter ID, PM Kissan, Aayushman Bharat Yojana, registration for E Shram Yojana, etc. People will be able to get the services at a nearby PDS shop while on the other hand income of the shops will also increase.

The MoU was inked in the presence of the Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister of Jharkhand in which the Secretary of the department concerned was also present. The agreement was signed by the Additional Secretary of the department and Jharkhand state head of CSC-SPV.
