Ranchi: On the recommendation of the Health Minister patients will be able to receive treatment worth up to Rs five lakh at the state’s largest government hospital Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences.
Similarly on the recommendation of the RIMS Director and RIMS Superintendent people will be also to get some relaxation in the cost of treatment. A decision in this regard was taken in a meeting between the minister and management of the hospital.
Health Minister Banna Gupta said that the proposal will now be placed before the governing council meeting and once approved it will be implemented. He said that the benefits will be extended to such people who do have any cards nor are covered under Ayushman Bharat Yojana or Chief Minister serious disease scheme.
The minister said that a letter will be written to the Personnel and Finance department for creation of additional posts in RIMS. He said that the lack of manpower will be strengthened in the hospital.
Apart from the minister the respective heads of departments will be able to recommend for treatment worth Rs 5,000 while on the recommendation of RIMS Superintendent treatment of up to Rs 50,000 will be allowed while Director RIMS will have the power to recommend for free of cost treatment between Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh.
