No registry fee on property in woman’s name in Jharkhand

Ranchi, May 3: In major decision for women empowerment and keeping
their economic interests in mind the state government has decided that
properties which would be purchased in the name of the women would be
free from stamp duty and registration fee.
Reviewing the progress of the works being done by the Revenue and Land
Reforms Department here Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that the
property would be free from stamp duty and registration fee which
means it would be absolutely free and the registration would be
carried on as token Rs 1 stamp.

The Chief Minister said that a budgetary allocation of Rs 20 crore has
been made in the budget for the monthly payment to be made to the
traditional Manki, Munda and Gram Pradhan and Dakhua. He said that
orders have been issued to liquidate the payment and said that work
should commence soon to provide them the money. He said that in the
next fiscal the Manki Mundas and Pradhanas be provided training and
tabs should be distributed among them. He also instructed to organize
a meeting of the Tana Bhagat Development Authority without further
delay.
Mr Das also asked to complete the task of digitization of the land
records so that the common people do not face any problems due to
maps. He also ordered for digitization of 86257 maps received from
Bihar. He said that law and order problems is created due to land
related issues and if the digitization task is complete than the
people would be facing less problems.
Revenue Secretary K K Soan that the work of digitisation was completed
in almost all the circle areas barring three circle areas and the
process of online mutation has commence. He said that the work of
integration between revenue and registration offices has been
completed in four circle areas and facility of online payment is also
available. To this the Chief Minister directed to complete the pending
work on time.
The Chief Minister said that it should be made sure that the people
displaced due to land acquisition should get the certificate of
ownership of new land and place within12 days and all payments of the
government schemes should be done by the e-payment as it would help to
bring transparency.
