New Guidelines come into effect, shops closed at 2 pm, roads become deserted

Ranchi: The new guidelines in wake of the Health Safety Week which has been declared in the state came into effect from Thursday during which the shops were closed down at 2 pm itself.

The shopkeepers themselves closed the shops prominently and went to their homes while one or two small shops and some street vendors and fruit sellers were seen on the roads which were later made to leave by the policemen.

After 2 pm the roads wore a deserted look in the capital with one or two vehicles being seen on the roads. Some of the people who were caught by the policemen without masks or out without any reason were scolded and even fined.

However early in the day the markets especially those selling fruits and vegetables kept buzzing with the people during which again the norms of social distancing were set aside.

At all the prominent spots in the capital policemen were seen alert on their work.

The state government on Wednesday extended the restrictions imposed in the state as part of Health Safety Week to break the chain of Coronavirus by another week.

The Health Safety Week will now be further observed from April 29 to May 6 till 6 am.

It has been decided that all the shops selling essential commodities will be opened till 2 pm only and people will be allowed for movement till 3 pm.
