New course of NCC will be implemented in schools and colleges of Jharkhand: Major General M Indrabalan

Ranchi: In schools and colleges of Jharkhand new course of NCC will be implemented for which permission has been received from the state government and as part of a choice-based credit system this will be included in the course.

Addressing a press conference here Additional Director General of Bihar-Jharkhand NCC Directorate Major General M Indrabalan said so far many changes have been made in the training programme in which as per the new education pattern they have been included in subjects of the university. He said that as per the new plan NCC cadets will be given more marks on performance and will also be recognised academically.

He said that earlier NCC training was only provided as extra co-curriculum activity and students use to get the benefits as per the policy of the state government. The major general said that such colleges and schools are being identified which have taken the affiliation for NCC training and were not providing the training as per the act. He said that such institutions whose performance is not satisfactory will be first served notices and further action will be taken.

Major General said that the process to appoint Principals for the training of the NCC cadets has commenced. He said that in Jharkhand training of NCC Naval Cadets has been commenced and they will be provided training at Patratu. He said that there is a proposal to provide training in Tilayia also and it is expected that soon training will also commence there also.

He also addressed the NCC cadets and detailed about the new policies in the areas and even replied to the questions of the cadets.
