Neeraj Singh Murder: 2 close associates of Jharia MLA arrested

Dhanbad, Mar 25: Police arrested two close associates of BJP’s
Jharia MLA Sanjeev Singh who were named in an FIR lodged in connection
with the murder of Congress MLA and former deputy mayor of Dhanbad
Neeraj Singh.
Gaya Pratap Singh and Mahant Pandey who were named in the FIR
along with Sanjeev and few others were arrested by police and are being
interrogated. Police sources said that a police team lead by City SP
Anshuman Kumar reached Gaya Singh’s residence late Friday night at
Simlabahal and arrested him.
Another accused Hemant Pandey was also asked to come for questioning
at the Dhanbad Police Station and once he reached at the spot he was
also arrested. The other three named accused in the FIR included
Sanjeev Singh, his brother and Jainendra alias Pintu Singh.
Talking to the press CID ADG Ajay Kumar Singh said that police has
secured many vital clues and soon the case would be cracked. He said
that police team were conducting raids in Uttar Pradesh and in
different areas of Jharkhand to nab the killers. He said that police
was working with a rapid pace and soon the killer would be nabbed.
To a query he said that none of police teams have gone to Bihar for
raids. Mr Singh said that the police was probing the case from all
point of views including political rivalry, business rivalry, personal
rivalry or war for supremacy, however he ruled out land dispute as the
reason of killing.
He said that regarding the information of presence of four youth in a
rented house in Kolakusuma belonging to a retired official of CIMFER
he said that police had visited the spot from where few paper
cuttings and some others items have been recovered. He also did not
rule out their involvement in the case.
