Need to speed up development rate as people want quick results: Raghubar

Ranchi, Jul 13 : Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das Thursday said that in the last two and a half years the state has made rapid progress and it stood second as far as the development growth rate was concerned after Gujarat.

Chairing a high level meeting with the officials at the project building here during which Mr Das reviewed the progress made in his rule and also deliberated on the future course of the action. He said that indices at the national level are a testimony of the progress of the state and even the Niti Aayog has lauded the works being done in the state.

Mr Das said that there was a need to speed up development rate of the state as the people wanted quick development for which the Team Jharkhand which consists of cabinet ministers and officials have to work with more dedication and honesty.

The Chief Minister said that after the state was carved out in the year 2000 it was for the first time in 2014 that the people voted for a majority led government in the state. Mr Das said that since the people have lots of expectation and due to the efforts of the government the state was rising above poverty and Jharkhand has got a new identity at the national level.

He said that on September 22 the government would complete 1,000 days in power and there was a need to bring the schemes that are related to the welfare of the people more in the open.
