Ranchi: The six Naxalites who surrender will get the first installment of the grant amount. The Home Jail and Disaster Management Department has issued an order regarding this. The six Naxalites who will get a grant amount of Rs 1 lakh each are residents of the Latehar district. These Naxalites will get grants – Raghunath Singh, Dasrath Oraon, Satyendra Oraon, Sanjay Prajapati, Anil Oraon, and Mohan Parhiya.
Jharkhand government has made a new policy for the surrender and rehabilitation of Naxalites. Under this new policy, Naxalites have been divided into category “A” and category “B”. Keeping the Naxalites of zonal commanders and above in category “A”, a policy has been made to give six lakh rupees as a rehabilitation grant. Out of which Rs 2 lakh will be paid immediately after surrender.
The remaining four lakhs will be given in two installments. Rs 2 lakh will be given in one installment after one year and the second installment will be given after two years after investigating the activities of the surrendered Naxalite. Apart from this, the rehabilitation grant for Naxalites below the level of zonal commander in category “B” has been kept at Rs 3 lakh. Out of this, Rs 1 lakh will be paid immediately after surrender.
The remaining Rs 2 lakh will be given in two equal installments. One installment of Rs 1 lakh will be given after one year and the second installment (one lakh) will be given after two years after investigation of the surrendered Naxalite activities.
