Naxalites surrendered before Police under ‘Operation Octopus’ in Latehar

Ranchi : JJMP Naxals Manohar Pahariya and Deepak Kumar Bhuiya surrendered before Police in Latehar under ‘Operation Octopus’ in collaboration with ‘Operation Nayi Disha, Ek Nayi Pahal’ in Ranchi on Friday.

At first, CoBRA Battalion of CRPF and Jharkhand State Police jointly launched ‘Operation Double Bull’ then launched ‘Operation Octopus’ in ‘Bulbul’ Pahad in Latehar district of Jharkhand.

Police said, at first, we have sealed the border area of Latehar connecting Chhattisgarh to detain Naxalites.

Both Naxalites were handed over a cheque of Rs. 10 Lakh each.

Police said, we have been successful in deactivating the IED’s (Improvised Explosive Device) planted by Naxalites in Bulbul Pahad, last month.

Then onwards, their surrender under ‘Operation Octopus’ made possible.

Huge Cache of arms and ammunition were also recovered during the search operation.

Police said, Naxalites Raghunath Singh Kherwar, Kamlesh Singh, Sanjay Parajapati and Satyendra Oraon have been detained and sent to jail.

Police and CRPF both are continuously working to provide basic infrastructure and facilities to the villagers at ‘Bulbul’ Pahad in Latehar district of Jharkhand.
