Naxalites stopped bridge construction in Khunti, Three Naxalites arrived with weapons, beat up labourers and broke vehicles

Ranchi: Armed Naxalites reached Murhu in Khunti district late at night riding on a bike and beat up the laborers.

The JCB, bike and other vehicles present there have also been vandalised.

The incident happened late Tuesday night.

The matter has been reported to the police, after which investigation is on.

PLFI Naxalites have created a lot of uproar late on Tuesday night.

Three Naxalites have also assaulted the laborers engaged in bridge construction work at Surunda and Marangtoli of Murhu police station area.

The vehicles present there have also been vandalised.

Police reached the spot after getting information about the incident. But before that the Naxalites fled.

The laborers told that three Naxalites had arrived riding on a bike only.

As soon as they reached there, they started fighting with the workers.

The laborers were thrashed with hockey sticks, vehicles were also vandalized with this hockey stick.

The Naxalite took out a country-made pistol and started filling it with bullets.

Seeing the opportunity, other laborers along with the CB driver somehow managed to escape from there.

The laborers informed the contractor about this.

Then the contractor informed the SP about its incident.

On the instructions of the SP, the police team led by DSP Amit Kumar reached the spot and started investigating the matter.

Police are ascertaining whether it was PLFI Naxalites or local miscreants.

According to Sources, the Naxalites had asked for a levy before this construction but the money did not reach them.

The police are now investigating the entire matter.
