Ranchi: The State Election Commission is engaged in the preparations for the municipal elections in Jharkhand.
Under this, now the commission has changed the reservation pattern of seats in the municipal corporations of the state. Under this, the candidate of SC class (female or male) will be seen on the seat of Ranchi Municipal Corporation and not ST.
In a notification related to this which the State Election Commission has issued on Thursday that a decision has also been taken for the mayor seats of Palamu, Hazaribagh, Giridih, Deoghar, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Saraikela-Kharsawan and East Singhbhum.
Now the seat of Deoghar Municipal Corporation has been unreserved for women. Dhanbad and Chas (Bokaro) Municipal Corporation seats have also been fixed for women (unreserved). The seat of mayor has also been unreserved in Medininagar (Palamu) Municipal Corporation and Giridih Municipal Corporation.
The post of Mayor in Adityapur Municipal Corporation (Saraikela Kharsawan) has been made unreserved (male, female) in Maango Municipal Corporation (East Singhbhum) for ST category (female).
