Ranchi: FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifier is being organized in the capital Ranchi from 13 to 19 January. An MOU was signed between Jharkhand government and Hockey India on Thursday regarding this competition.
A check of Rs 5 crore (sponsorship) was handed over to Hockey India on behalf of Jharkhand. Sports Secretary Manoj Kumar and Sports Director Sushant Gaurav were present on the occasion as representatives of Jharkhand Government.
On behalf of Hockey Jharkhand, Hockey India General Secretary Bhola Nath Singh, Treasurer Shekhar J Manoharan and other officials and players of the Indian women’s hockey team were present. After the formal signing of the MoU, Hockey India General Secretary Bhola Nath Singh said that the MoU has been signed for the FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifier Ranchi 2024.
This is an important milestone in our collective journey towards promoting hockey in India. He expressed his gratitude towards the Jharkhand government. Bhola Nath Singh expressed his gratitude to FIH President Tyeb Ikram for hosting the tournament.
Sports Secretary Manoj Kumar said that FIH is proud to be associated with the Hockey Olympic Qualifier Ranchi 2024. This is an important event, which reflects the spirit of sports. Jharkhand is honored to host this prestigious tournament. He said that we welcome it. He thanked Hockey India for hosting Jharkhand. Also asked for full cooperation to make this event successful. He said that all facilities from security to cleanliness will be provided.
