Monsoon Session: BSP MLA hands over resignation to speaker over Japla Cement Factory

Ranchi: BSP MLA from Hussainabad seat of the assembly Kushwaha Shivpujan Mehta handed over his resignation to Speaker Dinesh Oraon, however, the same was rejected by voting. During the private members bill on the last day of the monsoon session of Jharkhand Assembly, Mr Mehta demanded that the Japla cement factory should be restarted over which the government in its reply said that assessment for the plant will be made.

However, the reply of the government angered the MLA who sought to know as to till when this assessment will be made and in such a scenario there was no point of being an MLA. Speaker Dinesh Oraon said that if the MLA was not happy than he should tender his resignation.

Mehta who had a ready resignation letter already with him gave the same to the speaker which was later rejected by the house. The miffed MLA also left the house but was later pacified by the leader of opposition Hemant Soren who brought him back to the house.
