Ranchi: On the second day of the ongoing Monsoon Session of Jharkhand Assembly BJP MLAs protested outside the assembly before the start of the proceedings of the day over a host of issues including land mutation bill and police lathicharge on SPOs.
The MLAs also demanded a judicial probe into hunger death, demanded construction of an engineering college in Chandankiyari, suspension of the accused of attacking a journalist in Madhupur, poor condition of roads, stone-pelting by anti-social elements on a temple etc.
The MLAs alleged that the present state government was trying to hide its failures while on the other hand the youth women dalits and farmers are reeling under stress due to acts of the state government.
Sarath MLA and former cabinet minister Randhir Singh said that journalists are the fourth pillar of the democracy and in such a scenario attack by police on scribe was unfortunate and demanded for immediate suspension of the police officer or his transfer.
Chandankiyari MLA and former minister Amar Kumar Bauri demanded that an engineering college should be constructed in his constituency while the state government should also provide compensation to the kin of Bhukhal Ghasi who died due to hunger. He said that the Hemant Government was trying to suppress the voices of poor and dalits with the use of force.
