CM launches a veiled attack on BJP over SPOs agitation

Ranchi: On the second day of the Monsoon Session of Jharkhand Assembly the question hour was washed following an uproar created by the opposition MLAs of the BJP demanding the withdrawal of the land mutation bill and providing permanent service to the special police officers who are sitting on dharna for the last 10 days.

The BJP MLAs on numerous occasions came into the well of the house in support of their demands. Speaking over the issue Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that why the opposition was creating an uproar over the matter he has failed to understand. He said that he had sent his representative to the SPOs, moreover amid Corona crisis holding such type of gathering was a crime.

He said that on Sunday the views of the government were clearly placed before the agitators. He said that even Giridih MLA had gone to the MLAs but he pointed that after all things are sorted in presence of representatives of the government however as soon as they return the SPOs get agitated.

The Chief Minister said that the government and administration have the responsibility to prevent them from indulging in wrong acts however on human grounds the government is thinking about all of them. He said that no legal action has been taken against them and claimed that by instigating them their future is being spoiled. Hemant Soren said that the government can not tolerate stubborn attitudes and therefore the patience of the government should not be tested.

The Chief Minister urged the opposition also to extend cooperation in the matter as it takes time to complete any process. He said that an assurance has been given that every thing would be all right however the arrangements of food and water being made for them is not an indication of good politics. He said that whenever people from the government have positive talks with the SPOs those from the opposition reach at the spot and sow seeds of poison.

Hitting back senior BJP MLA CP Singh said that whether the people had given the mandate to face lathicharge. He said that MLAs of the opposition also go to the area for jogging. He said that when things are not happening as the way the government wants than everything becomes justified for them.

Singh said that when the people have given the key of power to them they should find but a solution but the truth is that the government is not at all interested to sort out the issue.

Silli MLA and AJSU supremo Sudesh Kumar Mahto said that if the Chief Minister was really worried for the SPOs than he should take initiative from his own side. Further, he also demanded to clarify its stand on the land mutation bill.
