Monsoon likely to enter Jharkhand by Jun 15

Ranchi: Monsoon is expected to enter the state by June 15.

As per the report of the weather department so far in the first week of June, the average rainfall is a deficit by 12 percent. The MET said that the Monsoon is currently getting active over the Arabian Sea, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Andhra Pradesh and Bay of Bengal due to which humidity has increased in the state.

On Monday it was bright and sunny throughout the day however late in the afternoon the weather took a U-turn as dark clouds got covered in the sky accompanied by thundering and lightning which brought down relief from the hot and humid weather.

The weather department has predicted for light to medium range of rainfall in or two locations in Ranchi, Bokaro,  Gumla, Khunti, Ramgarh, Hazaribagh, East and West Singhbhum and Simdega.

During the last 24 hours Maithon recorded maximum rainfall at 27 mm while Dumka was the hottest at 40.8 degrees while Chaibasa was the coolest at 23.6 degrees.
