MLA raises issue of starting studies at Polytechnic College in Sisai

Ranchi: During the budget session in the Jharkhand Assembly on Tuesday, Jiga Sosaran Horo raised the issue of starting classes at the Polytechnic College in Sisai. He mentioned that the building for the Polytechnic College was ready, but there was no clarity on when studies would begin. In response, Minister Sudivya Sonu stated that the in-charge principal has been appointed, and once the college gets approval from AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education), classes would begin.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren added that the state government is part of a coalition, while the central government is in the hands of the opposition. He emphasized that the opposition also has a responsibility in this matter. The state government is continuously working on this issue and has already corresponded with the central government. He urged the opposition to take the initiative and engage with the central government to help resolve the matter.

Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi criticized the lack of effort from the state government, stating that AICTE is an independent agency, and no significant attempts had been made on their part. He mentioned that buildings for polytechnic colleges were ready across the state, and work was continuing with in-charge principals. He emphasized the need for serious efforts and assured the government of cooperation where necessary.

In response, Minister Sudivya Sonu pointed out that the University Grants Commission (UGC) is also an independent body, but there are often hurdles in getting things done. He assured that the complete report would be made available to the Leader of Opposition.
