Matter of Sarna Religious Code not officially brought before him say Ramesh Bais at 51st Governor’s Conference

Ranchi: Jharkhand Governor Ramesh Bais participated in the 51st Governor’s Conference held at Rashtrapati Bhavan New Delhi during which he said that the matter of Sarna religious code has not been officially brought before him.

The President in his concluding address specially mentioned the name of Governor of Jharkhand Ramesh Bais and appreciated the work being done by him in the direction of solar energy in Raj Bhawan.

He said that Jharkhand is full of natural beauty and valuable mineral resources and the state is very rich from a natural and religious point of view, which is the center of attraction and faith for tourists and devotees.

Adding further he said that Left Wing Extremism is the problem of many states today and Jharkhand is also not untouched by it but with the strictness and vigilance of the security forces, extremist organizations are being dealt with and efforts are being made to bring them into the mainstream through surrender. He pointed that Jharkhand Public Service Commission has not made any recruitment in universities after the year 2008 and universities are functioning only at 30 percent faculty capacity but now the recruitment process has been started. He said that higher educational institutions actively participated in the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat program and organized various seminars, workshops and programs.

Under the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda Pardeshi Scholarship Scheme, this year six students of Scheduled Tribes were given scholarships for education in higher educational institutions in London. The Governor said that a calendar has been prepared by compiling all the programmes under the Amrut Mahotsav of Azadi in the state of Jharkhand, which has been sent to the Government of India. On the day of Amrut Mahotsav, cycle rally, photo exhibition and painting competition were organized in the state.

He said that Jharkhand has a unique identity at the national level in the field of sports and pointed that two daughters of Jharkhand’s Salima Tete and Nikki Pradhan, members of Indian women’s hockey team, impressed everyone with their excellent performance in Tokyo Olympics.

Over the Sarna religious code he said that several delegations have met me him in this context but officially this matter has not come before him. The Governor informed that the powers of the Governor in the formation of TAC and appointment of members have been abolished by the State Government without the prior consent and approval of the Governor. Along with this, the powers of Municipal Corporation, Mayor and President of Municipality have also been abolished by the government and he was taking legal opinion in this regard.

At the end he highlighted that vaccination work is also going on at a fast pace in the state. The strategy of Test, Track, Isolate, Treat and Vaccinate is being adopted to prevent and prevent Covid-19 infection and possible third wave.
