Maoist killed in Jharkhand

Ranchi, Jan 18 : A Maoist Guerrilla was killed in gun battle with security forces in Jharkhand’s Latehar district early Thursday.

According to Police, the killed Maoist Guerrilla has been identified as Guddu Yadav of Jharkhand Janmukti Parisad (JJMP). Guddu Yadav was dreaded Maoist of the Latehar district.

The gun battle took place at Jer village of Latehar district. Police moved in the area after getting information of gun battle between two Maoist organisations. When Police reached to jungle the JJMP Maoists started firing and the police retaliated in which Maoist commander was killed.

Police seized one AK 47 and eight rifles from the killed Maoist and encounter site.

Maoist Guerrillas are active in 18 of the 24 districts of the state.
