Mumbai – Actress Mandeep Kaur, who plays the character Megha in the television show Vasudha, recently transformed into a traditional Rajasthani bride for the first time on screen. The sequence, part of an ad shoot within the storyline, introduced a vivid cultural element to the show.
Expressing her excitement, Mandeep said, “It was my first time ever dressing up as a Rajasthani bride, and I was genuinely thrilled. I worked closely with the creative team to understand their vision for Megha’s look and even contributed a few suggestions of my own.”
For the role, Mandeep wore a deep maroon lehenga adorned with intricate golden embroidery, a heavily embellished choli, and a traditional Rajasthani-style dupatta. Her bridal ensemble was completed with authentic kundan jewellery, including a nath (nose ring), choker, layered haar, borla maang tikka, bangles, and a kamarbandh (waist belt).
“I felt the kamarbandh and the way the dupatta was draped added to the authenticity of the look. When I finally saw myself in the mirror, it felt surreal. Despite the outfit being heavy and layered, once I stepped into character, it all came together beautifully. It was a refreshing change from my usual appearance — I loved how grounded and regal the look was,” she added.
As the story unfolds, the drama intensifies with Vasudha left heartbroken after Megha and Devansh make the shocking decision to get married.
Vasudha is led by actress Priya Thakur, a 23-year-old from Himachal Pradesh known for her roles in Sanjha Sufna, Mohre, and Prachand Ashoka. The show also features Nausheen Ali Sardar, widely recognized for her role in Kkusum, and Abhishek Sharma, known for Nimki Mukhiya, Imlie, and Nimki Vidhayak.
Vasudha airs on Zee TV.
