Mandar Bypolls: Polling parties dispatched from Morhabadi

Ranchi: voting will be held on Thursday for the bypolls on the Mandar seat of the Jharkhand assembly. On Wednesday polling parties were dispatched from the dispatch center at Morhabadi. District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Ranchi Chhavi Ranjan and SSP Surendra Jha briefed the Sector Magistrate and police officers along with the dispatch of polling parties at the football stadium.

During this, the District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner directed everyone to be present at the polling station at the time of the mock poll and start the process of voting from 7 am. The District Election Officer said that if there is a defect in the EVM at the time of polling then inform it as soon as possible so that the process of voting can be started again by replacing the EVM at the earliest. He said that all the polling personnel remained in the booth on the day of polling.

The District The election Officer directed that if the booths are overcrowded before the end of the voting deadline, then the Sector Magistrate and police officers themselves should be posted there and control the crowd. He said that after polling, the polling personnel should reach the strong room on time and collect the EVMs and VVPATs used in the polling.

While briefing Senior Superintendent of Police Surendra Jha directed to take full vigil during the voting. He said that elaborate security arrangements have been made for voting in a fear-free and fair environment. Giving best wishes to all, District Election Officer hoped that the elections would be conducted in a peaceful, fair and fear-free environment.
