Loan of up to Rs 2 lakh of farmers to be waived off in Jharkhand, Budget of Rs 1.28 lakh crore presented, Target to create 10 trillion economy by 2030

Ranchi: In Jharkhand, Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon has presented a budget of Rs 1 lakh 28 thousand 900 crore. The government has made a big announcement for the farmers.

In the budget, loan waiver for farmers has been increased from Rs 50 thousand to Rs 2 lakh. It has also been announced to include farmers holding NPA accounts in this scheme. Dr. Rameshwar Oraon presented the budget in the Assembly for the fifth consecutive time. This time the budget has increased by 3.7 percent from last year.

The budget of the last financial year was Rs 1 lakh 16 thousand 418 crore. Due to it being an election year, this time the government is focusing on the schemes. The economic growth rate is estimated to be 7.7 percent.

The Finance Minister said in the House that the revenue income is estimated to be Rs 53 thousand 500 crore in the financial year 2024-25 with an increase of 11.18 percent.  This can be achieved by ensuring an average growth of 14.2 percent every year between 2023-24 and 2030.

The Champai government has set a target of making Jharkhand an Rs 10 trillion (Rs 10 lakh crore) economy by 2030. After the budget, the House was adjourned till tomorrow. The budget is 3.7 percent more than the previous financial year. Rs 91 thousand 832 crore has been kept for revenue expenditure in the financial year 2024-25, which is 8.5 percent more than last year.

Revenue income is estimated to be Rs 53 thousand 500 crore, which includes, Rs 34 thousand 200 crore from tax revenue, Rs 19 thousand 301 crore from non-revenue, Rs 16 thousand 961 crore from central assistance, Rs 40 thousand 338 crore as state’s share in central taxes, Rs 40 thousand 338 crore as public loan.

The department will receive Rs 18 thousand crore and Rs 100 crore in advance recovery. Fiscal deficit is estimated at Rs 9 thousand 500 crore in 24-25. During the reading of the budget by the Finance Minister in the House, the opposition boycotted the budget speech and left the House. 

On this the Finance Minister said that he does not have the strength to listen to the budget speech. They used to feed rice and rice to the poor. Hemant Sarkar also fed pulses along with rice. Now Champai government will provide vegetables along with pulses and rice. Establishment of 19 new colleges has been announced in the budget. 4 women’s colleges will be opened.

Medical college will be established in Ranchi, RIMS will be developed, a medico city will also be established in Rinpas land. Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon announced to connect 90 thousand families with rural women entrepreneurship in the next financial year. An Akhara will be constructed in the village and traditional musical instruments will be given. As soon as the proceedings of the third day of the budget session started, the issue of JSSC CGL paper leak once again came up during the question hour.

BJP demanded a CBI inquiry inside the House. Meanwhile, Male MLA Vinod Singh said that with the formation of the state, irregularities in jobs started. Irregularities also took place in the JSSC examination including the first and second Civil Services examination of JPSC and the appointments made in the Legislative Assembly. CBI is investigating the JPSC appointment scam. But till date the real culprit has not emerged in the CBI investigation.Nor was any action taken against any senior officer or leader.

The Economic Survey report presented in the Assembly shows that the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of Jharkhand has increased. The growth is estimated at 7.1 percent in the year 2023-24 and 7.7 percent in the next financial year. The state’s tax revenue has increased, but the state’s share in central taxes has decreased.
