Lecturer Appointment Scam: CBI conducts raid at Ranchi Women’s College

Ranchi: A team of the CBI on Tuesday conducted raids at the Ranchi Women’s College in connection with the lecturers appointment scam of 2008 and took a professor of English into custody.

Though there has been no official confirmation by the investigation agency. Sources at college said that professor of English Mamta Karketta has been taken away by the CBI for questioning.

The CBI in its charge sheet filed earlier had pointed that the then JPSC chairman Dilip Kumar Prasad had handed over the responsibility of preparing the merit list for appointment of lecturers to private agency Global Informatics after which gross irregularities were committed.

The investigation agency had pointed that marks had been altered and even copies were over-written after which many ineligible candidates were made to come in the merit list after fulfilling the marks criteria.

The CBI had on September 30,2019 had filed the charge sheet against 69 accused which also included 59 lecturers, members of JPSC board and the private agency.
