Land scam case, Hearing on former CM Hemant Soren’s bail on May 1

Ranchi:  The bail plea of land scam case accused and former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren was heard in the special court of Ranchi PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act) on Tuesday. During this, ED requested for time to file its reply.

Accepting this, the court has fixed the date of May 1 for the next hearing. ED has to file its reply by April 30. In fact, the jailed former Chief Minister has approached the court for his bail. He has filed a bail petition in the court through his advocate.

The main accused in this case, former CM Hemant Soren and Bhanu Pratap, a light employee of Bargain area, are currently lodged in judicial custody in Birsa Munda Central Jail. ED had arrested Hemant Soren in a money laundering case after his resignation on the night of 31 January. Officers Ali, Antu Tirkey, Priyaranjan Sahay, Vipin Singh and Irshad have also been arrested in the same case.
