Kapilo bags Best Panchayat Award for Sustainable Development

Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s initiative to strengthen the Panchayati Raj system is now getting stronger and its positive results are also coming to the fore. The result of the government’s efforts is that the Nanaji Deshmukh Best Panchayat Sustainable Development Award was given to Kapilo Gram Panchayat located in Giridih, Jharkhand at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi.

This award has been given to three Gram Panchayats doing excellent work all over India. This award was given to the head of the Panchayat by the Union Panchayat Raj Minister. It may be noted that every year, Panchayati Raj Institutions are rewarded by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Government of India, for overall implementation of development plans and performance of Panchayati Raj Institutions in local self-government.

Kapilo Gram Panchayat has done excellent work in the category of Nanaji Deshmukh Sarvottam Panchayat Sustainable Development Award among various award categories. Gram Panchayat Kapilo is located in Birni block of Giridih. Kapilo Panchayat is constituted of four villages, Kapilo, Pandana Kala, Rajmania and Chano. The Gram Panchayat constructed 96 pucca houses in the assessment year under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin. Common Service Center is established in the Panchayat.

Along with this, the panchayat has its own system setup in the panchayat secretariat. Along with the attractive panchayat building, attractive Anganwadi center, school, health center, wisdom center and knowledge center have been established in the panchayat. Separate toilets for boys and girls are available in Panchayat Bhavan and Vidyalaya, functional clean toilets are available in Anganwadi centers.

Library, community center, seven Anganwadi centers and playground are also available in Kapilo. Kapilo has received the award for outstanding and commendable work in all the subjects of the Sustainable Development Goals.
