Ranchi: Bharatiya Janata Party Scheduled Caste Morcha celebrated the birth anniversary of Jyotiba Phule at the state office on Thursday. State Organization General Secretary Karmaveer Singh said that Jyotiba had founded ‘Satyasodhak Samaj’ in 1873 to provide justice to the Dalits and weaker sections.
Seeing his social service, he was given the title of ‘Mahatma’ in a huge public meeting in Mumbai in 1888. Today we all need to follow his example. Leader of Opposition Amar Kumar Bauri said that Jyotiba Phule’s contribution to the society is unforgettable.
Jyotirao Govindrao Phule was an Indian social activist, businessman, anticaste social reformer and writer from Maharashtra. His work spans many fields, including the abolition of untouchability and the caste system and his efforts to educate women and oppressed caste people.
Morcha’s state president Kishun Kumar Das said that Jyotiba Phule was a great social reformer, writer, philosopher and revolutionary activist of the 19th century.
