Ranchi: Ameesha Kerketta of Jharkhand has made it to the finals in the Junior World Boxing Championship 2023 (54 kg category) held in Yerevan, Armenia (Azerbaijan).
Kerketta has achieved this success by defeating the Polish boxer and European champion in the semi-finals of the boxing championship.
Before this, he had made his place in the semi-finals by defeating the Mexican boxer in the quarter-final match.
Boxing championship was inaugurated in Yerevan, Armenia on November 23, 2023 and will continue till December 4, 2023.
Ameesha Kerketta, a resident of Konpala Pandaripani village in Simdega district of Jharkhand, met Dronacharya Awardee Captain Braj Bhushan Mohanty, a boxing instructor from the sports academy ‘Jharkhand State Sports Promotion Society (JSSPS)’, which is being run as a joint initiative of CCL and the Government of Jharkhand since 2018.
His father Dilip Kerketta and mother Prabha Kerketta are farmers by profession and do farming at their home.
A boxer from JSSPS is representing the country.
Apart from this competition Kerketta has won many medals by participating in many state, national and international competitions.
Under the able leadership of CCL CMD Dr. B. Veera Reddy, the company, under its various CSR schemes, is providing proper training to the talented players of the command area as well as various rural areas of the state with the aim of improving their game so that they can bring glory to the state and the country.
This worthwhile effort of CCL is bearing fruit, resulting in the winning flag of Ameesha Kerketta and other players.
CMD, CCL Dr. Reddy appreciated the talent of Kerketta and wished her all the best for her bright future and victory in the finals.
Apart from this, all the Directors of CCL and CVO, CCL also congratulated Kerketta for her victory in the final competition.
