Ranchi: Assam Chief Minister and co-in-charge of the Jharkhand Assembly elections, Himanta Biswa Sarma, addressed a public meeting in the Khijri constituency. During his speech, Sarma emphasized that this Jharkhand election is crucial for both the country and society. He pointed out that the entire nation is discussing the Jharkhand elections because the issue of infiltration is the most significant one here.
Sarma mentioned that today, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids at various locations in Ranchi, where documents related to infiltrators were recovered. He further noted that districts like Sahibganj and Pakur are witnessing a continuous rise in the number of infiltrators. In Sahibganj, the Muslim population has reached 35 percent, he said.
Accusing the Hemant Soren government, Sarma stated that the number of infiltrators is increasing steadily, and they are encroaching on lands. However, the JMM-Congress-RJD coalition government is not taking any action. He alleged that the Hemant government is actively protecting infiltrators. Sarma warned that when the NDA forms the government on the 23rd, they will work to identify and remove each infiltrator from Jharkhand. He also raised the issue of schools being closed in certain districts on Fridays for a particular community.
Sarma questioned the Hemant government, asking, “If schools can be closed on Fridays for one community, why can’t they be closed on Tuesdays for Hindus?” He criticized leaders like Alamgir Alam, whom he referred to as the real power behind the government, for such decisions. Sarma also remarked that if Muharram processions can be taken out, why not Ram Navami processions? He accused the Hemant government of trying to divide society.
He further claimed that Bangladeshi infiltrators, who already practice polygamy, come to Jharkhand, manipulate local women into marriage, and then take control of the land. Sarma promised that once the BJP forms the government, they will introduce a law preventing children of infiltrators, who marry tribal women, from receiving tribal certificates. Infiltrators will also be barred from contesting elections for local positions, like village head, after marrying in Jharkhand.
Sarma criticized the Hemant government for failing to deliver on its promises, including the promise of 5 lakh jobs for youth and a monthly unemployment allowance of Rs 5,000. He also pointed out that the government promised gold coins and Rs 51,000 for marriages, but instead, “that gold was sent to Alamgir Alam’s house.” Sarma referred to the ED raids, where mountains of cash were recovered, to highlight the government’s corruption. He further accused the government of leaking exam papers and selling them for lakhs, thereby ruining the future of the youth.
