Bokaro: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren addressed an election rally in Chandankyari, urging people to vote for Grand Alliance candidates Umakant Rajak from Chandankyari and Arup Chatterjee from Nirsa.
Soren described the election as a “great festival” that takes place once every five years, calling it the “biggest and strongest celebration of democracy” where people from all castes and religions come together. He encouraged everyone to participate enthusiastically in this democratic process.
The CM also took the opportunity to target the BJP. He pointed out that leaders from Gujarat, Maharashtra, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Odisha are arriving in Jharkhand to seek votes, questioning why they travel from such distant places.
“They come here to loot the mother, daughter, bread, and soil that they talk so much about,” Soren said, criticizing their rhetoric. “These people speak of ‘mother and daughter,’ and ‘bread and daughter,’ but what do they really understand about bread?”
Soren went on to criticize the BJP for its governance before 2019, when the NDA held power in both the state and central governments. He pointed out that despite BJP’s long rule in Jharkhand, people were left struggling, with many running from place to place with ration cards in hand, unable to secure basic necessities.
He also highlighted the issue of farmer suicides during BJP’s rule before 2019. “Under their government, more than 10,000 farmers committed suicide due to debt. But we, with determination, have worked to save them,” Soren said.
He concluded by appealing to voters to strengthen the Jharkhandi government by supporting the Grand Alliance, ensuring that the interests of the people are prioritized over outside influence.
