Ranchi, Jul 15: The state on Wednesday recorded its highest ever tally as far as detection of cases on a single day was concerned as a total of 316 cases were found after which the total number of cases so far in Jharkhand has crossed 4,500 mark.
In a single day, a total of 316 patients spread across 21 out of 24 districts of Jharkhand tested positive for Covid-19 after which the overall tally has now reached 4,562.
During the day 2 deaths were also reported including 1 each from East Singhbhum and Hazaribagh districts after which the overall death count has gone up to 38 in the state.
As per the data provided by the health department the number of active cases in the state was 2,039 while the number of cured and discharged cases stood at 2,485. The total number of death caused by Coronavirus in the state stood at 38.
During the day a maximum number of 71 cases were reported in Ranchi district followed by 61 in Hazaribagh. In Ramgarh 30 cases were found, Garhwa 27, Latehar 23, Giridih 19, Lohardaga 15, Dhanbad 14, East Singhbhum 12, Sahebganj 11 and West Singhbhum 10 districts.
Out of the total 4,562 cases which have been detected more than 2,200 have been brought by migrant workers coming from the various Coronavirus hotspots in the country including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Delhi and Tamilnadu.
On Wednesday 57 people were cured and discharged from various dedicated Covid-19 facilities in the state including 23 from Dhanbad and 10 from Palamu. 7 from Koderma, 5 from Saraikela, 4 from Chatra, 2 each from Ramgarh, Ranchi, Dumka and Deoghat districts also defeated Coronavirus and returned back to their homes.
The samples are being currently tested in the state at government facilities including MGM Jamshedpur, RIMS Ranchi, PMCH Dhanbad and Itki Arogyashala Ranchi while samples are also being tested in different private labs in the state.
Jharkhand had reported its first Coronavirus case on March 31 as a Malaysian woman had tested positive for Covid-19.
So far in the state 2,08,841 samples have been collected out of which 1,96,070 have been tested and 1,91,508 have turned out to be negative.
The data further pointed out that the number of travellers under surveillance and asymptomatic was at 5,595 while people who have completed 28 days of compulsory observation stood at 4,306. The number of people in facility quarantine was at 24,677 while those in home quarantine were 2,72,904.
