Ranchi, Aug 13: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that the
state police would be made the most modernised and trustworthy police
in the nation as part of which the force would be equipped with all
modern arms and ammunitions and also would have adequate man power.
Addressing the police personnel during a function organised at the
JAP-1 grounds here he also announced that 10,000 more police personnel
would be recruited in the state including those in the ranks of the
inspectors. Mr Das said that two neighbours of India, China and
Pakistan are currently involved in a proxy war with the nation to
which the army and the para military forces are adequately replying.
He said that in maintaining the internal security in the country the
police and para military forces play a very important role. He
congratulated the Jharkhand Police for brining down the Maoists
incidents in the state by 50 pc . He however said that still
challenges were big as there was a need to attack on the economic
crime being done by the Maoists in the name of collection of levy. He
said that funds collected as levy is used to misguide the youth and
involve them in Maoist activities. He asked the policemen to be an
enemy of criminals and friends of the people.
