Jharkhand Police Association election pending for over a year

Ranchi: Despite the term of the Jharkhand Police Association expiring over a year ago, the election process has still not been completed. In light of this delay, the DIG of Personnel has issued a letter to the Provincial President of the Association, Yogendra Singh, instructing that the election be conducted by January 15.

The letter to the Provincial President stated that during a meeting on December 23, 2024, it was communicated that a meeting would be held in January to finalize the date and venue for the Seventh General Assembly and the election of Central Office Bearers, and that the police headquarters would be informed accordingly.

The DIG’s letter further stated that the election must be completed by January 15, 2025, and the police headquarters should be notified of the results. If the election is not held by this date, the police headquarters will set a date for the election, which must be adhered to.

It is important to note that on December 26, 2024, Pankaj Kumar Tiwari, the Provincial Coordinator of the Police Men’s Association, wrote to the DGP highlighting that, despite the completion of the Association’s term over a year ago, the election for the Seventh General Assembly and Central Office Bearers had not been held.
