Ranchi: State’s Industries Department Secretary K Ravi Kumar said that the state was moving ahead on the path of becoming and industrial hub and it was due to the efforts made by the state government in the last 4.5 years that favorable environment for industrialisation has developed in the state due to which investors not only from the country but also from abroad are being drawn towards Jharkhand. Addressing a Press Conference organized at the Suchna Bhawan here he said that due to the setting up of Industries people have got a large number of direct and indirect employment.
He said at present the number of industrial units in Jharkhand was 3217 while in 2015 it was 2500. On the other hand 8997 small and medium industries are also registered on the portal of the industries department and said that it was due to the steps taken by the State Government for Industrial Development that in the business Reform Action Plan franking which was undertaken by the government of India in collaboration with the World bank Jharkhand in 2017 was at the first position while in 2014 in the ranking of the planning commission it was at the 24th position.
Mr Ravikumar said after the Inception of Jharkhand industrial area development authority the industrial development has gathered pace in the state as under this land and online approval for setting up of factories in the industrial areas is being provided and highlighted that after the change of ownership or promoter 150 sick or closed units has been once again started.
He said that the Global investor Summit which was held in 2017 added a new dimension to the industrial development of the state and after this in 7 phases of round-tripping ceremonies foundation has been laid for 504 industrial units in which investment of Rs 50,627 crore has been made and direct employment has been generated for 72,682 to people.
The secretary said that Jharkhand was the first state in the country which has formed state-corporate social responsibility Council under which the funds from the CSR are used for welfare and development in the area and said that after the formation of the council in 2015 under CSR head Rs 1500 crore has been spent.
He said that the state government has also accorded importance for the development of the industries and the entrepreneurs in the rural areas. He said that under Mukhyamantri Laghu Evam Kutir Udyam Vikas board and Jharkhand Matikala Board people under different categories are being provided training and units for lac processing honey processing gold and silver jewellery stone craft and agriculture clusters are being set up in different areas of the state.
