Jharkhand, Karnataka Trade Bodies Ink MoU to Strengthen Business and Investment Ties

Ranchi: In a significant step towards boosting inter-state trade and industrial collaboration, the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) and the Ballari District Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Karnataka signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during a joint business meeting held at Chamber Bhawan.

The meeting was attended by Jharkhand Industry Secretary Arwa Rajkamal, Industry Director Vishal Sagar and representatives from industries and trade organisations of both states. Discussions focused on investment opportunities, industrial cooperation, business expansion and strengthening trade relations between Jharkhand and Karnataka.

Welcoming the Karnataka delegation, Chamber General Secretary Rohit Agrawal said the initiative would open a new chapter in industrial, tourism and commercial cooperation between the two states. He noted that direct interaction between entrepreneurs would encourage joint business delegations, B2B meetings and future investment activities.

FJCCI President Aditya Malhotra highlighted Jharkhand’s emerging industrial potential and said the state is entering a new phase of industrial growth. He said Jharkhand’s textile policy offers attractive opportunities for investors and added that a new industrial policy is expected soon to further improve the investment climate.

He also pointed out that Jharkhand is rich in key minerals such as lithium, manganese and bauxite and has the advantage of adequate power supply and skilled manpower. According to him, sectors including spices, vegetables, cotton, rice mills, real estate and exports offer strong investment potential.

Industry Director Vishal Sagar invited entrepreneurs from Karnataka to invest in Jharkhand, stating that the state government is committed to promoting industrial growth and generating employment. He also mentioned that Jharkhand recently participated in the World Economic Forum in Davos for the first time under the leadership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

Industry Secretary Arwa Rajkamal said Jharkhand has strong industrial capabilities and wide scope for collaboration with Karnataka, particularly in mining, manufacturing and IT sectors. He added that tourism and infrastructure development are also expanding rapidly in the state.

Ballari Chamber President Avvaru Manjunath encouraged Jharkhand-based entrepreneurs to explore business opportunities in Karnataka and invited the Jharkhand Chamber to participate in an upcoming MSME conclave in Bengaluru.

Entrepreneurs from both states exchanged ideas during the meeting and discussed possibilities for future partnerships and industrial cooperation.
